So somehow I got roped in to wearing ladies, green hot pants for this race.  I don't know how these things happen but as I love a good dress up, it was game on!

As normal, everyone met at my place for carpooling to the start line.  Before we left I donned on my awesome hot pants and presented myself to my team.  Aside from pissing themselves laughing, they really didn't know where to look.  Realising the level of discomfort these pants causes just make me laugh even harder.  Today was going to be a good day.

At the start line people had no idea whether to take me seriously or not.  No shoes, no shirt, and tight, green hot pants.  I was having trouble taking myself seriously.  Thankfully the start line announcer took me seriously enough to interview me which was awesome.  Event more thankfully, the police near the start line didn't arrest me.  Well, now it was too late as we were off and racing.  Heading up the first few kilometres I could hear a few ladies laughing behind me and mother's standing on the side walk just looked at me in disgust.  Quite comical really.

After about 5 kilometres we settled in and helped out relay team members along.  Julie did awesome the first leg and handed off to Phil for the stretch up to Whitebridge.  He also did awesome and kept us in a good time.  Phil handed off to Nat, who really picked up the pace.  Nat is a track runner so is pretty damn fast!  I really struggled at this point.  Thankfully these hot pants were super comfortable so all was well.

After Nat's leg he handed off to Leigh at Redhead.  From here we pressed on for Jewels Crossing a couple of kilometres down the road.  Leigh of course had a good giggle at my costume while running a great time.  Next up was Beau for the final push.

Handing off to Beau we only had a couple kilometres to go and Beau being Beau, was planning a big finish.  With the finish line now in sight Beau sprinted off in spectacular fashion, so much so even the commentator applauded his finish!  Melissa and I crossed the line a few seconds later to wrap things up.

As expected I copped a whole pile of confused looks from people.  Perhaps this was a little too family friendly to be wearing ladies pants but hey, it was a little too late, and already well worth it.

As is tradition everyone walked back to my place for beers and BBQ lunch.  Another great event with my awesome company team.  Oh and big shout out to Melissa for the hot pants!
